Activity Overview

Practical Update in Primary Care will occur as a virtual experience. A Q&A session with the faculty will follow each livestreamed presentation.

This enduring material will be available on demand for those who purchase extended-access packages.

To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full activity and submit a completed evaluation form. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 60 days of the virtual conference will receive immediate documentation of credit. For questions regarding this educational activity, please call 609.371.1137.

Learning Objectives

After participating in Practical Updates in Primary Care, participants should be able to:

  • Review current treatment guidelines, diagnostic recommendations, and management strategies for a variety of medical conditions commonly seen by primary care healthcare practitioners
  • Diagnose frequently encountered medical conditions and apply an evidence-based treatment plan to improve patient outcomes
  • Summarize up-to-date management of common medical conditions in clinical practice
  • Increase understanding of a variety of disease processes and determine strategies to optimize referrals and consultations with specialists in order to provide optimal patient care
  • Employ new strategies to enact behavioral change in your patients, translating into improved clinical outcomes

This conference is designed for primary care physicians, family medicine specialists, internists, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, registered dietitians, certified diabetes educators, and other healthcare professionals involved in primary care.

Dietitians

Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (1 IPCE credit = 1 CPEU). 

If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (1 sixty-minute hour = 1 CPEU). 

RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Performance Indicator selection is at the learner’s discretion.
